The team Vets Over 35s are situated in southern the city and play in the Cheshire Veterans League Top Tier.

"That's a bit unusual but then, I enjoy running and just move inside - I'm not defending that much," he said.

"I warn my centre-back 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to keep attacking.

"That movement is what I'm looking for. It's enjoyable."

'Surreal Scenario

Along with Cisse's 6 scores on debut, Stephen Ireland has scored eight in 3 appearances for the side, while George Boyd hit five on his debut match and Lescott, a defender by position, scored a hat-trick in one match up front.

Wythenshawe are leading of the Premier Tier with three victories from three and a GD of +19.

One opponent, thirty-eight, who plays on the flank for the opposition, faced former Wigan defender Maynor Figueroa on Sunday - and had to tell his young boy who Heskey was.

Figueroa has appeared at 2 World Cups for Honduras, in as well as featuring in more than 200 Premier League games.

"The news was spreading like a rumor they had these ex-Premier League stars," said Barrow.

"I think I was a bit starstruck facing him to be honest.

"Even Heskey came on and he's got over 60 English appearances.

"Our side held our own for a good 20 mins but then we had a man sent off and it was hard.

"Our group literally haven't ceased chatting about it - I was phoning my mother and brother on the way home.

"The opponents were all dead sound, shaking our hands after the game - it was like facing a bunch of regular guys.

"Now we are eager for the second fixture."
